Science and Technology in Society (STS) Forum 2026

Richard Curry visited Kyoto in Japan last week to attend the Science and Technology in Society (STS) Forum 2026. The forum was attended by senior executives, policy makers, advisors and technology experts from across Higher Education, Industry and Government. There were conversations around the role of Higher Education in addressing societal challenges relating to the adoption, validation and control of emerging technologies, specifically AI and Quantum Computing. Richard also learnt that there were more organisations switching to the Si:Ge platform technology which is an area that the MEAD grant is specifically researching.
